I’ve been doing a lot of thinking and research as to why so many of us (myself included) seem to put our plans/dreams on hold. We have to believe first that we can pursue these dreams and goals. But it’s not enough to just believe, be driven, be motivated; we have to have an INFRASTRUCTURE to pursue. If we don’t have our infrastructure, (day to day) life right we won’t get far. Then what happens when we don’t get far: We postpone, we tell ourselves stories such as "Now is not the time," or "See, I shouldn’t be trying to do something for me." Infrastructure is our foundation, our BASE to set ourselves up to WIN. We spend so much time thinking of others and what they need that we come up empty or short for ourselves. We know we do it - we don’t understand how to fit ourselves into the equation. So I’m asking you right now to think about this:
• Are you tired? • Are you anxious? • Are you uncomfortable? • Are you depressed? • Are you overwhelmed? If you are any of these things, you are NOT setting yourself up for SUCCESS. BUT YOU CAN! Here are a few ways to get started: Get Healthy - Yes - we make sure everyone else stays healthy, and we put ourselves last. However, this is so important to ensure your success! We MUST feel great physically and emotionally. You can succeed when you do not, but you will not be able to sustain this, and it is much harder than it needs to be. We need to MOVE our BODIES EVERY DAY! Energy begets energy - just 30 minutes To be Successful you need stamina and energy. Think of the successful people you know: Are they energetic? Do you think they have an exercise routine? 97% of highly successful people work out at least 5 days a week. They understand that energy is needed to run a business, run a family, run a marathon. You want to achieve your goal - your body has to be ready, also. Now you're saying, "I don’t have time for this - 30 minutes??" (Answer is next...) Most successful people wake up early - YEP - To create a healthy environment, wake up an hour earlier. This is your time - you can do your 30-minute workout, enjoy your coffee alone (my favorite), read your emails, start your morning priming, meditate, pray. This allows you time to set yourself up for the day. HYDRATION - Drink your water (1/2 your body weight in ounces every day). I like to mix between alkaline water and regular water. Yes, you will pee! This is good; it flushes out toxins that your body otherwise stores. When you are hydrated, you think clearer, you snack less, your body moves easier. Make this a habit. Give up the junk food - Focus on NUTRITION - forget about the processed foods, donuts, sugary drinks. You won’t want or “need” these if you are exercising and drinking your water. For 30 days, remove 1 sugary thing that you consume daily because you feel you can’t live without it, and see how you feel. Practice your GRATITUDE every day. I’ve mentioned this before. At the end of the day, if you jot down (somewhere, journal or phone) 8-10 LITTLE things like I love the smell of my coffee brewing in the morning, and I love watching the birds in the morning while I’m drinking my coffee. Not the normal big things like I’m grateful for my family and friends. This helps you begin focusing on the small wins you will be gaining as you move on your path to success. As you focus on the small things, you will then be looking for them each day. When you are in this state, anything is possible - it changes how you see things - the mountain doesn’t look so HIGH. The GOAL doesn’t seem so far away. Goals can be achieved when you are struggling physically and mentally, but when you take care of yourself, you have BOUNDLESS ENERGY to keep the focus on your GOAL your VISION.
